About
I am working on my PhD in Environmental Psychology; my dissertation explores the features and locations of safe, nurturing, healing and restorative spaces as experienced, captured, and recalled by the end users (rather than architects). Methods include digital and analog storytelling, book binding, mental maps, and environmental autobiographies to facilitate conversation about the particularities of participants' favorite spaces and places.
My previous research explored the constructions of nature in car advertisements published in National Geographic. I used visual and content analysis to create digital archives and short films to both store and present the ads alongside my analysis. The paper and multimedia project is an innovative digital humanities endeavor that I intend to publish.
