About

My primary interests are primate sensory systems, sexual selection and evolution. I am particularly interested in the notion of sensory trade-off between olfaction and vision in primate evolution, and how this has affected mechanisms of sexual selection. The only way to get a more complete understanding of the evolution of this supposed trade-off is to turn to fossils, and as of yet, few bony indicators for olfaction (and more specifically, pheromone detection) are known. My research will focus on identifying and quantifying osteological indicators of the vomeronasal system in primates so that fossils can be studied in this context.
